The Easiest Way to Secure All Your Communications
Let Outfitter Satellite secure your phone and fax communications with a state-of-the-art USS-900. Each unit comes standard with 128-bit Harris CitadelTM CCX encryption. AES and DES encryption are also available. There are no pin codes to lose or to fall into the wrong hands. Just plug in and go. We also have mobile equipment for securing calls made from cellular phones or satellite phones.
Secure Voice Calls: With a standard phone connected to the USS-900, simply call another USS-900 equipped phone. All call start in non-secure mode. To go secure, just press the RED button (see right) on the USS-900. The red LED light on the USS-900 will go solid when secure communications are established. Secure Faxing: If the USS-900 is used in "automatic mode," non-secure faxes will be received as usual, but faxes sent from another USS-900 equipped fax will automatically received securely. To remind you later that the fax was received in secure mode, a "SECURED FAX" stamp appears on all the pages received in secure mode. Secure Point-to-Point Data Connections up to 33.6 kbps: The USS-900 secures point-to-point data connections up to 33,600 bps and as slow as 9600 bps. If you are calling over poor quality lines or making a call to a cellular or satellite phone with limited data speed, the USS-900NB narrow band version is recommended (see below). Secure File Sharing During Secure Voice Calls: Secure Voice and Data (SVD) can be transmitted during the same secure call. Secure point-to-point file transfer is facilitated between users on a secure call by special software (Windows only). Simply connect your computer to the RS-232 serial port of the USS-900. If your computer does not have an RS-232, Outfitter Satellite offers USB-to-serial adapters. Secure voice communication can resume after files are transferred. Encrypt E-mail Attachments: The USS-900 also can be used to hardware encrypt computer files so that you can send them safely via email. Another USS-900 is required to de-encrypt the files. To do this connect your Windows-based computer to the USS-900 using the RS-232 port. Securely Call Cellular Phone and Satellite Phone Networks from Your Home or Office: The USS-900 and USS-900NB can both be used to send or receive secure SVD calls from phones equipped with the DCS-1200. The DCS-1200 is designed to operate on the low bandwidth data connections typically available from cellular or satellite networks. If you intend to conduct secure communications between your home or office and low-data-speed cellular networks, it is recommended that you equip your home or office phone with a USS-900NB which is designed for 2400-9600 bps. Locations equipped with the USS-900, which is designed for 9600-33,600 bps, can still intercommunicate with the USS-900NB equipped location.
